Iceberg

IGCSE Geography

Our planet has many surprises and the sheer joy of finding these out is a worthwhile experience. This course is designed to meet these needs by investigation, understanding and using our knowledge for the benefit of all.

Studying Physical and Human Geography enhances our understanding of this planet and how we can protect it. The topics studied here are:

The Physical Environment

  • Landforms and their formation
  • Tectonic Activities - Volcanoes, Earthquakes and more
  • Rivers - and how they shape the land
  • Marine processes
  • Weather and Climates

The Human Effect

  • Population and Settlement
  • Agriculture and Industry
  • Leisure and Tourism
  • Managing and Conserving Energy & Water Resources

The photo shown was taken by a diver of a rig off the coast of Newfounland. Icebergs can be a danger to rigs and they must be tracked to avoid disasters. This one had the sun high in the sky and the ice refracts the light through it to reach great depths. A light bulb in the ocean perhaps.....! Our thanks to the diver for this one!
